what about… blogging?

While cycling on the promenade to have some beer downtown (to finish a quite remarkable birthday), I thought about my recent blogging activities – or, to be more precise, the lack of new posts on this blog. A few days ago I talked to Bernd in ICQ and told him some funny story about installation failures a my parents’ house, after which he asked ‘So why didn’t you put that in a blog post?’
I had to admit that he was right, somehow, and a few weeks or probably months ago this post would’ve been a must-do. But it is not right now, for several reasons.
The first might be the fact that I’m staring on a computer screen from 9am until 6pm due to working in an internet services company, seoFactory. I’m not getting square eyes, yet, but it’s not that far off.
Secondly during all the previous months of Solvium.de blogging I had some person to talk and tell my stories to. This partly imaginery, partly real recipient of my posts faded over time, and so did my motivation.
So what about new sources of blogging motivation? Sonja started her blog recently, planning to write down her thoughts on whatever topic will cross her mind. That’s a nice approach, and maybe it’ll be an inspiration for me to post some real life situations myself.
Additionally I’ll try to compose (most of) my future blog posts in English, to practise and increase my language skills, and to reach a broader audience. As I’m writing down these lines, I realize that this may be a tough aim to follow, as it consumes much more time than writing blog posts in German. :-/ There will also be quite a large number of mistakes, but as Daniel double-checks each blog post written here (in any language, of course) and instantaneously reports all found contentual and grammatical errors, I’m quite optimistic about reaching a certain standard of language.
Well, there are soo many more things to say about this topic, like writing in English is great in last.fm profile conversations and stuff, but I’m tired now and work begins in eight hours…

Well, the latest rumors say we won’t have any spare time to get in contact with the inhabitants anyway… And if we should unexpectedly might meet some, I’m sure we’ll find a way to communicate, even if it’s some sort of ridiculous sign language
Yeah, and I can practise by reading and commenting!
